Hi! I am Bob, the owner of Bufflao Bob's Coins. Like a lot of people, I started collecting coins when I was a child. My mother bought me a blue Whitman penny folder and I immediately started bugging everybody I knew so I could look through their pennies. My goal was to fill every spot in that album! That project was never finished, but my curiosity for coins stayed with me.

Forty years later, my coin passion was reignited after visiting a local coin show. I knew about wheat and indian cents, but had no idea what other coins were out there besides what was in circulation. After some reading, I was hooked and I could not get enough. I attended a local auction that was auctioning a major numismatic estate. I learned a lot through that auction. WHAT? We used to have actual 2 cent pieces, 3 cent pieces, and an WHOA, a TWENTY cent piece? How fascinating!

Soon, I was setting up at coin shows and wanted to learn as much as I could. I tapped a lot of the dealers who have been in the hobby for decades. They were more extremely patient with all of my questions, and they shared any information that I wanted. I learned that breaking into the hobby can be very intimidating, especially when you try to talk to a dealer who is unfriendly (and there are plenty of them). I made a promise to myself that I would treat every person with respect regardless of their thier knowledge level. Heck, I even learn a LOT from customers who are experts in a certain type of coin. You can never know everything in this hobby.

Today, I am member of the American Numismatic Association (member #3215948) and have pledged to help everybody understand and enjoy the hobby of numismatics!
